The Review:-
One series that has always captured my attention as a child was the Nancy Drew series. I always loved them as a child so rereading this book was a splendid walk down memory lane.
The storyline is simple and easy to follow. I think the most enjoyable thing about the storyline is how they follow the plot for the mystery. There is enough to keep you interested and able to make your guesses as to who the bad guy is.
I won’t give away any spoilers but one of my favorite scenes is when the culprit took the boat that Nancy and her friends were using and Nancy and her boyfriend used the clues they had and were able to find the boat. The way how all the events led up to one another was satisfying and easy enough for our young readers to follow.
The characters in the book all had their personality and helped to draw in the leader. I remember having a strong dislike for some of the characters in the book as a child and adoring Nancy and her friends.
We’ve given Nancy Drew And The Moss Covered Mansion a rating of 7 out of 10. This book gets this rating because for a children’s book it is well written, a good read and I think it is one of the foundational books that children should experience in their lifetime.
